Mission

To enhance the quality of life of all residents of the Alamo region in partnership with elected and appointed officials, funders, community partners, and beneficiaries.

SA2020 Impact

AACOG Specialties include Area Agencies on Aging, Alamo Area Regional Law Enforcement Academy, Alamo Service Connection, Alamo Caregiver Empowerment, Alamo Local Authority for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition, Air Quality, Weatherization Assistance, Public Safety, and Alamo Regional Transit. Our work helps move the needle toward achieving the SA2020 vision in a variety of areas, including: a healthier, more fit community through our Area Agencies on Aging and the Alamo Local Authority for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities; environmental sustainability, throughout our support for recycling, air quality, and carpooling programs; increasing transportation accessibility through Alamo Regional Transit, mobility programs, and transportation grants; and supporting community safety through law enforcement training. Through our support of regional governments, non-profits, and business entities, AACOG provides general technical assistance to member governments in their planning functions, preparation of applications, and the administration of area-wide programs. In addition, AACOG provides program specific technical assistance for regional planning in the areas of aging services, economic development, 9-1-1 systems, homeland security, criminal justice, resource recovery, air quality, transportation, and weatherization assistance is also offered. In addition, AACOG sponsors special projects in response to local government needs or requests.
